Donuts are fluffy and sweet, never stale, never dry. Chicken Wings are underrated, crunchy outside, juicy inside, very tasty! A sleeper spot that is very under appreciated!

We stopped here after lunch to satisfy our sweet tooth. We got the glazed twist, maple glazed donut, and the old fashioned. 3 stars for the old fashioned, but 4 for the other two! The glazed twist was really fluffy! The staff was also helpful and approachable!

The BEST donuts around SF! No lie. I was pleasantly surprised of how soft & delicious their donuts were. I tried one of their simple chocolate donuts & it was so good. The chocolate had a nice even layer spread on top without any clunky chipped chocolate pieces like some donut shop have. It was almost like the chocolate was fused into the dough as one. I can't explain but basically it was perfect! The shop has a nice clean display of donuts soon as you walk in. The selection is great also. Aside from their simple selection of basic donuts, they also have danishes, bagels, croissants & those specialty donuts as well to choose. I have not tried their hot grill items but word is that they have an amazing menu for lunch aside from the sweets. My main advice would be to not let the outside location discourage you from visiting. The area outside where it's located doesn't have the best presentation (homeless mostly) but soon as you walk in it's a completely different atmosphere. I had some judgement & expectations before I went in and I was so mad at myself for not going here sooner! This has become my new morning go to spot for breakfast!

How can I be three blocks away and not stop in? I have 45 minutes to order my food, jump in to a ride share, and be on the other side of The City. Fu*k it. I'm all-in! Great to see the owner, Ken and his mom, flourishing and well. Trying to decide on what yummy lunch plate to carryout. Garlic Fish with rice and a scoop of mac salad. Just like being in Hawai'i. So Ono!

If you drive into the West Bay from Oakland and points east with any frequency, you'll likely have driven past All Star Café as it sits on busy 9th Street, directly downstream from a Bay Bridge offramp. Next time you do so, consider stopping here if you're hungry. A combination Hawaiian platter with chicken katsu and fried shrimp was generously portioned, beautifully fried, and simply delicious. The $12 price was a deal for so much food, and that doesn't even factor the heaps of rice and macaroni salad that came with it. In addition to Hawaiian fare, they have Asian-inspired stir fry dishes plus traditional diner fare like burgers, cheesesteaks, melts, sandwiches, and breakfast. They also have donuts and baked goods, although these were all sold out by the time I showed up. Still, a solid, truly local find. Thanks to Ed U. for bringing All Star to my attention!
